Noodles.. don’t noodles..

Ok, so I left you where I was trying to impress by eating nasty bugs and scorpions etc, turns out that when the stall next to the fried insect one is selling banana nutella pancakes, there’s just no competition and the grasshoppers are soon forgotten.

But I have taken my very first Thai cooking class, and have to say I am now master of making spring rolls – I even got a thumbs up from this little old Chinese lady who was cooking too. So be warned all you friends of mine, you will be experimented on when I return, pad thai is on the menu.

Right now I’m north of Bangkok in Chiang Mai. Took a sleeper train up with its very own dedicated party carriage. Yup that’s right, Gangnam style and strobe lights at 60 mph.. Very good way to get to know my companions in the group i’ve joined.

A couple of nights ago, after some obligatory night market browsing, we went to an awesome ladyboy cabaret. They were amazing, with so much energy. I may have been straddled a couple of times and the boys with us got swamped in sparkly lipstick and forced motor-boating. Those of you who experienced El Plata in Zaragoza with me I’m sure will have fond memories of just how hilariously bizarre the whole show was, but this had a laugh and still made you really aware of the difficulties some of them face. Total respect to them and 100% recommended.

I’m afraid I’m still failing on the photo front, I’m trying I promise, just right now, the pool seems awfully tempting..
